WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We need a Knit Programmer to join our Flyknit Development and Commercialization team. You have a real passion for the Nike brand and have a deep knowledge of the machinery used in the manufacturing of athletic footwear. You also are sensitive to differing cultures, customs, and business practices and can represent the Product Development team with the highest degree of integrity.
We are looking for someone who committed to personal growth and development and also demonstrates brand passion.
WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?
You will work to develop products from inception to commercialization to meet footwear category team specifications. You will independently design and perform computer software programming duties to be applied in computer-controlled flat knitting machines. You will analyze technical programming requirements for development on highly sophisticated equipment designed to create industry-leading knitted products and components. You conduct program and machine testing, optimizing programs with respect to performance, efficiency, and reliability for production. You will inspect and critique samples. You will support adherence to seasonal product creation timelines. You will create and revise product specifications with construction details in preparation for commercialization and production.
WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?
You will work closely and communicate often with the programming team to obtain consistency in technical, development and production across respective categories. You will build strong relationships with our manufacturing partners. You’ll also collaborate with the engineering and category teams on a regular basis to develop best-practice and process-efficiency project agendas.
WHAT YOU BRING TO NIKE
* minimum m1+ basic, Shima apex basic or equivalent knitwear cad system preferred.
*Programming best practices: basic understanding.
*Program quality: basic understanding of the requirements needed in a program released to Asia and the impact of defects.
*machine handling best practices: basic understanding of best practices around the machine set up and adjustments.
* Proven effective oral and written interpersonal skills in English and Vietnamese
* Bachelor’s degree preferably in textiles or engineering; additional experience required in lieu of a degree.
*Travel up to 10% of the time.
